In order to heal, we must go through. Compassion is the act of being with suffering - to stay with the moments we want to stay with the least, to turn towards the pain even though our instincts tell us to run, to rest in the silence of loss. When we stay, when we acknowledge, we transform darkness into light. We find reprieve from grief, from sadness, by growing and blossoming with new awareness. The vehicle for the transformation is our heart. In this meditation workshop, we will practice Atisha’s Heart Meditation, a method that strengthens are trust in the heart’s capabilities by addressing our own suffering and then addressing that of the world. By using our breath and coming back to our bodies, we find ourselves grounded, nurtured, and trusting. All levels welcome. Bring a yoga mat and anything else helpful for your meditation.
