Music and Sound link us with our bodies, our intellect and our hearts – to our pains and our joys. Music has the potential to move our deepest feelings, our inner world out into the external world, expressing who we are in the moment, connecting us to our memories, our loved ones and moving the grieving process. Music can be a powerful instrument for transformation and change. Through gentle and playful techniques, we will explore song, movement and rhythm, listening to ourselves and others. We will have the opportunity to hear the sounds and voices of our inner world. We may even uncover layers of sound and music (and feelings) inside our physical tensions and blocks. In this workshop, we will use the power of rhythm, breath, chanting, song and improvisation as well as the power of play. There will be rhythm instruments and group singing as well as movement and dance. For singers and non-singers, musicians and those who consider themselves non-musicians.
